First of all, it is important to read the manufacturer’s instruction booklet or any warning labels before using the product (in this sense, the compact electric heater). 

Users should not use the compact electric heater with a power strip or an extension cord – as overheating of the power strip or the extension cord could result in fire. This also means that, the heater should be switch off when not attended or not needed. The heater should not be situated near flammable objects (such as gas) or even near items that could block the heaters exhaust source or air intake.  Unless stated in the manufacturer’s instruction booklet, do not use the heater in damp or wet areas, as parts of the heater may be damaged by moisture. Besides that, the heater’s cord and plug should be checked periodically, as it is dangerous to be using a damaged cord or plug. 

The compact electric heaters should also be placed on flat surface or grounds – as dropping of the heater may result in breaking of parts in the heater.   Users should also not place a heater in the child’s room without supervision, and it should be kept away from the child as well.
