Toe kick electric heaters
Electrical heaters come in different sizes and shapes. All of them are designed to suit the different needs of different customers, but you have to look around to find the best type of electric heater that suits your need best.
If your place doesn’t have a lot of wall spaces, the toe kick electric heaters (also known as kick-space heaters) would be a very good type of heater to consider. They are ideal for warming up the floors. The price range of toe kick electric heaters is between $100 and $400, depending on the size.
Toe kick electric heaters are very low (approximately 3 ½ inches) compared to other types of electric heaters. They can go under cabinets or the stair landings. It saves space because it can be slotted under anything that has a gap at the bottom of approximately 4 inches. The depth and length varies for different companies and models, so be sure to measure your spaces before you make a purchase.
Why should you choose toe kick electric heaters?
Toe kick electric heaters save space because of the function of its size and design. They warm up the floor so that you can walk properly and comfortable in your own house, especially the kitchen and bathroom floors. Other than those reasons, a better reason would be because of how hot air rises. When you place heaters low, it helps to warm up the room more effectively because the air will travel through the room, at least from bottom to top. Some people would recommend toe kick electric heaters over baseboard heaters because they give out more heat.
The types of toe kick heaters
There are mainly two types of toe kick electric heaters on the market, hydronic heaters and electric heaters. Both types of heaters have to function with a fan. While electric toe kick heaters run on electric, per se, the hydronic heater produces heat with warm water. Warm water runs through the coils in the heater and gives out heat. The fan forces the heat that is generated by the coils out of the toe kick electric heaters and into the rooms. In other words, hydronic heaters still need electricity to function because of the fan, but the only difference is that the main source of heat comes from warm water instead of electricity for hydronic heaters.
Electric toe kick heaters are cheaper to install if compared to the hydronic heater, but it is not as efficient compared to a hydronic heater.
Although toe kick heaters are good in so many ways, it is advisable to consider baseboard heaters if you have the space, because baseboard heaters are cheaper and easier to find on the market. Nonetheless, always remember to calculate the rate of heat loss for the room that you are going to install the heaters so that you will at least have an idea on what type of heaters you will need. The calculation might help you save more money in the long run.
