Used electric heaters
If you are thinking about replacing the used electric heaters at home, think twice about where you are going to send them. If your plans are to send them to the dumpster (of course!), think again. There are other options that you can choose from rather than just sending the heaters to the dumpster.
Selling the electric heaters
Yes, you can pretty much sell off anything (on the web) these days. Take a look at your used electrical heater, is it broken? A lot of people replace their heaters because it has been used too long. However, the electric heaters might still be in running condition. If that is the reason that you’re tossing out the heater, selling it could be a very good idea, especially if your used electric heater is from a renowned company and still in good condition. With so many online stores, you just might get a very interesting amount of money from them.
How do I know how much should I sell it for?
Before selling off your heater, you can consider putting them on auctions sites to get an idea on how much people would pay for your used product. You might have underpriced your used electric heater. You just might not know the fact that your heater is actually one of the models that have been discontinued but are still very much on demand. Putting it on auction might give you an idea on how much your heater is worth, and then you can decide if you want to sell it with a fixed price or continue to put it on auction. The price just might go higher over time.
Other than posting your heaters online, you could also pay the local store a visit. Ask if they take in used items or to give you an estimated price if you want to sell it. Some stores take in second hand or used heaters. You might get back half of what you paid for when you bought it.
Giving away the electric heaters
If your heater is still in good condition, why not give them to the people that need it but couldn’t afford new ones? Again, you can post them on websites that handle second hand goods, forums or even social networks. You might not know people who need those heaters, but the people you know just might have someone in mind for that matter. Ask around and see if there are any non-profit organizations or places that need some extra warmth.
Recycle!
If you really have no idea who to give your used electric heater to, recycle it. Look for your nearest recycle collection center and give it to them. Help save the earth while clearing out your old stuff. There are even companies or corporations that would pay you to recycle your used electric heaters.
In a nutshell, your used electric heater might still be able to serve you one last time after you unplug it from the socket. Find other ways that could benefit you or others when you throw away your garbage. A man’s trash might really be another man’s treasure!
